Ustad Sabri Khan was born in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh (about 100 miles east of Delhi) in 1927. A staff artist at All India Radio since the 1940s, Ustad Sabri Khan has been among the leading half dozen sarangi players in the world. He has also been an important teacher and his several sons are now excellent professional performers in their own right including sarangi, tabla and vocal.
