The Crying Spell is a Alternative Rock group from Seattle, Washington, USA formed in 2008. Hailing from Seattle, Washington, The Crying Spell includes lead guitarist Eric Snyder (Second Coming, Capitol Records), vocalist Len Hotrum and drummer Chase Culp (Point One, Adrenaline Records) and bassist Jason T. Phraner (Redlightmusic - featuring Peter Klett of Candlebox, DMI Records). Few bands seem to connect with the audience with the grace, style, truth, sincerity and musicianship of The Crying Spell. Because of that connection between the artist and fan, the band has been sharing the stage with the likes of national acts Killing Joke, VAST, Thriving Ivory, Modwheelmood, The Classic Crime, Julien K, and Filter. Recently, The Crying Spell completed a second tour of Germany with Julien K and earlier this year completed a full UK and European tour with the legendary Killing Joke. The Crying Spell will be recording their new album with a well known producer (undisclosed at this time). While their first record showed considerable new wave tendencies, with a definite rock flair, the band has likened their evolved sound to a modern New Wave, self coined "Modwave". The band has been likened to an eclectic mix of The Cure, Duran Duran, Muse, and The Cult, with just a hint of that world famous Seattle sound. Read more on Last.fm.
