The Brokeoffs

The Brokeoffs are as shy as they are drunk. There's not a lot about the past they'd tell you other than the unlikely story about being the illegitimate sons of Roger Staubach, born in a briar patch to the famous bruja Burr Woman who left them to be raised by a paint huffing coyote named Gary. Who knows, it could have some truth to it. Influenced largely by music played on the cutting edge of the Victrola, Dave formed The Brokeoffs to, "git them ghosts to shut the fuck up." The group is largely self contained inside Dave with occasional members playing this or that depending on availability and/or the liquor situation. At the urging of Lawyer Dave the band recorded it's first record in March 2005 at a Texas rest area that was closed for repair late one night. The result was Rest Stop, a disgusting low-fi recording available now at CD Baby. The Brokeoffs are currently in the "studio" working on a new album that will hopefully be done at some point in the future. In the meantime, a bunch of U.S. shows are hapenning and another Iraq tour is in the works. To date, the band has played over 350 shows and reached an audience of well over 17 people worldwide.
