The Braxtons

'The Braxtons' were a '90s RnB group conformed by the sisters Toni, Trina, Traci, Towanda and Tamar Braxton. They signed a deal to Atlantic Records in 1990. Their debut single 'The Good Life' featured the 5 sisters doing harmonies and verses - even considering the quality of the track, it practically went unnoticed even by the more vivid soul fans. In 1991, Toni pursued a solo career and Traci left the group without apparent reasons. Five years later (and with the remaining sisters still in contractual obligations with Atlantic) The Braxtons released their debut album 'So Many Ways', which made the USA Top 200 albums and the RnB Top 40. 5 singles were lifted from the album, while 3 of them charted inside the UK Top 40. The Braxtons' biggest hit to date is a cover of Diana Ross' classic track "The Boss". The single reached #1 in the USA Dance Charts with the help and support of Masters At Work. In 1999, Tamar also decided to leave the group to start her solo career. Sadly, The Braxtons' dreams of making it 'real big' as they used to say never came true, but at least they were able to deliver one of the finest contemporany RnB albums of the 90's. Long live to The Braxtons and their fantastic slow flow!. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
