The Ballachulish Hellhounds are a Scottish country blues trio signed to Big Rock Candy Records. Originally from the Highlands now based in Glasgow. The Hellhounds have been playing most of Scotlands major festivals and venues for the last 5 years. Notable gigs played include The Wickerman, Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival (3 times), Dean Castle, The Edinburgh Festival, Glasgows West End Festival, The Grand Old Oprey, Barfly, Nice ‘N’ Sleazys and The Southside Festival, Glasgow. Over the summer of 2009 they playedThe West End Festival, Glasgow (twice), a rocking gig at the Belladrum Festival, and a support slot on the main stage at The Kilmarnock Edition Festival with The Saw Doctors and Seth Lakeman at Dean Castle on August 9th 2009. In 2010 The Hellhounds embarked on their first full UK tour, beginning in Inverness and including dates from the Highlands to Hertfordshire and everywhere in between. The Hellhounds will be bringing their own brand of Scottish Americana the length and breadth of the British Isles during 2010/2011. 2010 sees the release of their much anticipated debut album“Songs from the Great Atlantic Ocean”. The album has received extensive FM air play on BBC Radio & Radio Clyde amongst others. This will be followed by an exclusive 4 track vinyl EP in autumn 2010. There are nods to The Carter Family, Doc Watson, Scottish fiddle tunes transposed for guitar and a few originals by The Hounds. We like to think it gives an honest representation of The Hellhounds as a band. There are a couple of tunes on it that may never be played live and a few songs that folk who have come to see us live, will not have heard before. This is an introduction to The Hellhounds, we have already started on our 2nd album which will be a collection of our own original tunes and probably an old traditional Country Blues tune or two.
