Tears of Technology hails from a city that care forgot long ago, New Orleans. Surrounded by music his entire life, he gained a natural talent for composing. Even in elementary school, his saxophone playing amazed the band teachers. When you grow up in a city like New Orleans, music usually is the only thing that you have. In the 80's when he was around 12 years old, local radio had his attention with mix shows playing the hottest music out at the time and mixing it all together. He spent many late nights recording to cassette the mixes of local DJ's like DJ Mad Dog, Ray Walters & DJ Davey D. Around the year 1987, he began to learn how to mix like the DJ's he had been listening too on the radio. One year later at the age of 17, his tapes were a hit among all his friends in his neighborhood. If it was dance music you wanted, you went and saw him for one of those hot mix tape's. In 1993 he landed his first job at a local night club called Escapades. From 1993 till 1996 he DJ'ed at a few different clubs in the New Orleans area, including Kenny's Key West. These years help him learn to perfect his mixing skills. In 1997, he went in to radio broadcasting for the next 4 years as the on-air personality Scott Allen. While in radio, his love for dance music continued as he began producing his first original tracks. His name was Tears of Technology & he specialized in breaks. The very same styles he had been spinning & mixing for the last 10 years. Ten years later he is still at it. He produces dance music across different genres for labels and his own independent releases. This includes 4 albums, 5 mix CD's and he has also appeared on several maxi CD singles. From his breakbeat / freestyle tracks to his Dan the Man trance tracks, he keeps it rocking. Read more on Last.fm.
