THUNDER BODY

Matt O'Brian and Rachel Orke, formerly of Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad, feature deep grooves and a clear one-drop foundation. Formed in April 2010, THUNDER BODY is International Body Music, Medicine Music, Deep Groove and Deep Space. Simultaneously steeped in simple song and ambient noise, THUNDER BODY is proud to present the next wave in American Roots and Dub. THUNDER BODY is connecting the body of artists, musicians, truth seekers, and revolutionaries through the medium of meditative and uplifting electric body music. Matthew O'Brian (drums/vocals) is the founder and former lead singer of Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad. Rachel Orke (keys/melodica) is a neurologic music therapist and played in GPGDS from 2005 to 2009. Dennis Mariano (guitar/vocals) plays in several bands and is a professor of music history. Jeremiah Pacheco (bass) is an organic farmer with experience around the country. Brian Blatt, a.k.a Colonel Parmisan, (science) is a noise music phenomenon, and a watercolor artist. "Thunder Body takes funk's intensity and blends it with a casual soul aesthetic. It's spine-bending, deep, and joyous. And the band's protracted jams prolong the elation," writes Frank DeBlase.
