There appears to be more than one artist that go by the name of 'Swamp Thing'. Two are mentioned below. I. A. Hardcore band out of Richmond, VA. The band released three records between 2008 and 2011. The Youth is Sick was released in April 2008. The EP comprises of 7 songs and lasts just 10.47. In January 2009 the abusive In Shame was released. A violent 13 songs and lands in at 19.25. 2011 saw the release of their Self titled EP. This was the last release by the band and not shying away from tradition, the bands assault lasts just 6.39. All releases were on the 6131 label. Swamp Thing played their final show on 07/02/2012, The entire show was filmed and is on youtube. I. B. Power blues duo Michael Barker & Grant Haua are Swamp Thing. Hailing from Rotorua but recently returned from Oz, Michael Barker was a long time member of The John Butler Trio and is the touring drummer with Kiwi legends Split Enz. Grant Haua is a greatly respected singer/songwriter and guitarist from Tauranga. These two unique musicians come together bringing a wealth of experience, passion and love for their craft to make blues flavoured music with a deep groove and soulful spook.
