Light funky tracks that have a neo-tribal feel. A blend of high-energy latin and salsa, mixed with the soothing deep sound of aboriginal didjeridu into a chill sunset mix. DJ Suv's introduction to the world of music was through the group 'Fresh Four' which enjoyed chart success in 1989, reaching number 10 in the UK national charts. 'Fresh Four' was a ground breaking group, innovative and always experimenting with new sounds. Since 1989, DJ Suv has been in the studio developing his techniques. Aside to his long-standing devotion to DUB, Suv has been influenced by the likes of Gary Newman, David Bowie, Madness and Bob Marley, (he was once a mod!) Recently, he has found inspiration in Latin, Asian, Moroccan and Ethnic music in general. The origin of his diversity and flexibility of style becomes very clear when considering this wide variety of musical influences. Suv and DJ Krust, after joining with DJ Die and later Roni Size, joined forces to build the independent label called 'Full Cycle'. This label as well as 'V Recordings' and 'Talking Loud', has been a vehicle for many ground breaking Drum and Bass releases. Suv, an integral member of 'Reprazent' and known to some of the band's members as Echo Sounds and FX Man, also plays percussion in the live shows, and is always regarded as a very active member. Suv collaborated with DJ Die on tracks such as 'Mankind', 'Music First' and the classic dance hall smash, 'War and Peace'. Suv has worked with Roni size on such tunes as 'Newforms', 'Bahnamadia', 'Jazz', 'Beatbox' and the most recent chart hit 'Lucky Pressure'. He is often credited as Full Cycles 'freebeat' ambassador for using techniques which elongate the bar structure of his composition. In 1997, Full Cycle released Suv's solo debut EP, title 'Freebeat' which was noted for its empirical qualities, developing the freebeat lick, in which tracks manifest themselves in a 3/4 time signature specifically designed for the dance floor. He also released the massive solo landmark tracks, 'Output' and 'Closer' as well as the 'V Beat EP' for 'V Recordings'. Under the alias and the project name 'Real Time', he created an ambient vocal anthem, 'Mine', for the 'Through The Eyes' album. The only vocal track on the album was later released as a DJ vinyl 12 inch. He is currently working on the 'Real Time' album which promises to be more accessible to new audiences and will feature various styles of music and vocalists, drawn from House tempo, Hip Hop and of course, Drum and Bass. Outside of his active DJ Career and his part in the live 'Reprazent' shows, Suv has been remixing tracks since 1997, with his first solo effort being for fellow Bristol bods, 'Jazklash'. He also remixed tracks for other artists such as, 'N'Dea Davenport', 'Heaven 17', 'Adam F', 'MK11', 'Cultura Probase', 'Reprazent' and 'Towa Tei', just to mention a few. There is a series of Suv's solo ethnic experimental world music albums in the making. The first is called 'Desert Rose', which features a Latin-Hindu-Moroccan approach, mixing the Spanish and English cultures. The next and newest is called 'Follow The Sun', this album goes two steps further and introduces a wider range of languages and cultures like, French, Hebrew, Mandarin, Hindu, Punjabi, Moroccan, Spanish and Portuguese, trying to connect even more people together. In 2003 Suv really pushed his boundaries by releasing 3 albums in one year, currently touring live shows for the 'follow the Sun' album and also working on his own independent record labels which are soon to have their first releases. Suv is one of the producers in the drum and bass world who is not afraid to make changes and open new doors. Suv is known for his diversity and ability to switch people's minds. Read more on Last.fm.
