Stza Crack, also known as Scott Sturgeon, (Born March 4th 1976) has fronted several punk-ska bands in the New York area, the best known bands being Choking Victim and Leftöver Crack. In 1990 Sturgeon and a friend of his Alec Baillie formed No Commercial Value, which later evolved into Choking Victim and then again into Leftöver Crack. Although many members of these bands have come and gone, Sturgeon remained a constant figure, writing the vast majority of the lyrics and music and becoming the bands' self-appointed spokesperson. Stza has earned a reputation as being hard to work with and/or associate with. According to a letter on the Morning Glory website, Stza and Choking Victim once filled Huasipungo's gas tank with sugar after a show at 924 Gilman after Huasipungo refused to let Choking Victim borrow their equipment due to past disputes- resulting in a lifetime ban from playing at some underground venues, such as New York City's ABC No Rio. The nick-name Stza can be traced back to Sturgeon's influence from the Wu Tang Clan. Using the same format for his name as some of the clan's original members he started calling himself "Stza" also "Sturg" (& variations), "Sturgeon" (& variations), "STZ", "The Stza", "Stza Crack", "Crack Daddy Kane", "Osama St'z Laden", "Sporty Lice", "Mr. Crack", "Ol' dirty stza" Also Stza travelled to Chiapas in mexico to do voluntary work with the Zapatistas Stza played live in Leftöver Crack, the original incarnation of Choking Victim, solo (doing acoustic shows) and in a new "Crack Rock Steady Seven" featuring members of The Infested in Europe and in 2005. 2006 saw him in Mexico forming yet another regional Crack Rocksteady Seven, the CRS7mx. He returned to the United States and toured with Leftöver Crack and Choking Victim. Read more on Last.fm.
