Stereo Deluxe

Longevity and stability are two words rarely associated with independent rock bands, but they are apt descriptions of Stereo Deluxe. The members of the Indianapolis-based band have been friends since childhood and playing together in the same band since 1998. The guys spent their formative years carving out a niche for themselves through various name changes, house parties, youth centers and dive bars, playing hundreds of shows for anyone who would listen. In 2006, Stereo Deluxe released a self-titled CD packed full of slick, melody-drenched power pop songs evoking elder statesmen such as Cheap Trick, Material Issue and The Knack. In the wake of its release, the band has become one of Indy’s hottest live acts. Notable shows include sold out dates at The Music Mill with Kings of Leon and The Vogue Theatre, winning the $10,000 Indy Battle of The Bands. Over the last two years they have toured the Midwest extensively building a growing fan base and gaining the support of local media with cover articles and airplay on several of the region’s top stations. A new album, "When the Party's Over," is scheduled for release Summer 2008 on indie500 Records. Read more on Last.fm.
