This is the life and career of Splitzide, a hip-hop artist who pulls us into his world through the factual accounts of his life. He cannot be imitated or replicated; he has traveled below the bottom layers of this life and ended up on top. This is the story of an artist who has seen the negative, and has evolved into something very positive. By the age of15 Splitzide was forced to fend for himself; he began renting an apartment and living on his own. Shortly after, Splitzide left High School looking for immediate gratification and a way to survive. With no real supervision he took advantage of his surroundings and began making money on the streets. Splitzide wound up serving nearly 3 years in prison and this symbolized a turning point in his young life. Knowing that prison was nowhere to live, he began taking advantage of the time by writing and setting goals for his eventual release and taking advantage of the educational opportunities and penned the lyrics to Trapped and Make My Bail, two tracks off his first album, 2 Sides Of The Story while incarcerated. Through his constant evolution as a person and as an artist, Splitzide began cashing in on years of introverted thought and began making music. His style is so genuine because it is born from his life experiences. This is not about wanting to be gangsta and Splitzide sheds that image whenever possible, this is about writing and sharing the experiences that have shaped his life. Evidence of his development is obvious; Splitzide offers the single Cool Breeze The Bud Is NFX and a full length, Splitzide. His total sales are very impressive, nationally he has sold 12,000 physical copies and over 300,000+ digital downloads of his "2 Sides of the Story" album for the most part all have been reported through SoundScan. Splitzide later released an internet album "2 Sides of the Story: Reloaded" outside of the U.S. (March 2010) which sold an impressive 140,000+ digital downloads from the album. Now with a new album "2 Sides of the Story: Trial & Conviction" shows the growth of the talent that exists; as he's taken his music to a new horizon. Proof of his business and marketing savvy are shown through his utilization of several online retailers and more impressive, through major traditional retailers. Splitzide has also taken advantage of promotional outlets such as radio and internet. Another reason for his success is his tireless work ethic.
