With two independent releases and hundreds of live performances under their belt, the Toledo, Ohio based rock outfit, Southbound Fearing, has returned with a new record and a rejuvenated sense of purpose. “We do what we do for the glory of Jesus Christ, sometimes the music industry has a way of distracting you from that truth, but we are definitely back to the basics with this record” says singer/guitarist Brady Leonard. The Arduous Task e.p. which was produced and mixed by Jake Rye (No Greater Sky, Lee Roessler Band) and mastered by Dan Shike (newsboys, Mercy Me) was released by indie label Red Cord Records on March 5th 2010. The band’s first radio single Miles made its debut on the top 30 Billboard Chart for Christian Rock in early May and shows no signs of slowing down. The second radio single “Luke 2:49” is set for release to stations nationwide in late summer. Southbound Fearing, since its inception in early 2006, has always been a ministry-focused band. The guys are very open about their faith, both in their lyrics, and on stage. In an industry where most bands take the “under the radar” approach to sharing their faith, Southbound Fearing is never afraid to preach the Gospel of Jesus. The guys recently completed their cd release tour in spring 2010 and are gearing up to headline Red Cord Record’s summer tour in July. The band has managed to stay busy with little to no help from an outside manager or booking agent. Past album releases include the Safe and Sound e.p. (2007) and I’m Walking the Lighted Path this Time e.p. (2007) the band plans on hitting the studio in late 2010 to record their follow-up full length album. Read more on Last.fm.
