Soni Pabla (29th June, 1976, Punjab, India –-- 14th October, 2006, Brampton, Canada) was a Indian-born musician who sang Punjabi songs. Life: Born and raised in India, Soni moved to Toronto, Canada in the mid 90s. Under the teachings of Mahesh Malwani, he studied music, which led him towards a recording contract. Soni released his debut album, Heeray Heeray, in 2002. In 2004, Soni teamed up with Sukshinder Shinda to create his second album, Gal Dil Di. He has also been featured on numerous albums with various producers. Death: Soni Pabla was performing a show in Brampton in Canada. After singing a few songs, Soni went off the stage to get a glass of water, before collapsing as he drank it. Paramedics tried to revive him but he was pronounced dead while on the way to the hospital. He had suffered a heart attack. Pabla's funeral was shown on Asian TV program Jee Aayan Nu, which showed his family and friends mourning. Read more on Last.fm.
