Simon Jensen Band

Simon Jensen was born in Copenhagen in 1973 and started playing the flute at the age of ten. He played classical music through childhood and switched to rock when he was about twenty. In Denmark he played hard rock with a band for three years and he also played on the streets a lot. In 1996, Simon moved to Sweden and joined the progressive rock band Grovjobb (the Swedish word for hard work). He was the flutist and saxophonist of this band for five years. During that period Grovjobb made three albums. Simon Jensen Band started as an odd duo in December 2003 with Simon (flute) and Peter Nilsson (bass). During January and February 2004, Per Fenger-Krog (piano, keyboards) and Oskar Bergenheim (drums, percussion) joined the group. In March 2004 the band recorded a demo CD and a few months later they signed a deal with the jazz label Blue Beat Productions. The debut "All You Can Eat" was released in January 2005. During 2006 the band has changed. The members are now Jack Anderson (guitar), Marcello Musumeci (bass) and Lars Rosengren (drums). The band is working on new tunes to be released during 2007.
