Shadow Of Whales is an alternative indie-pop band with a passion for creating music and spreading hope through friendships. Fronting the group is Joshua Flores (Invisible Target), his brother Caleb on drums, Chris Fraga on lead guitar, Jeremy Boyum on bass guitar, and JD Vazquez on keys/glockenspiel. What makes this band truly unique is the experience that all of them have had in aggressively seeking careers in music with their previous bands. They are all songwriters, they all love music, and more importantly, they all love people. With a sound kin to The Killers, Switchfoot and The Beatles, Shadow of Whales rocks their quintet with a series of flavors. In their music you will hear guitar swells followed hard-driving riffs, five-part harmonies that transition in to sing-along gang chants, music you can dance to, and then music you can mosh to. After months in the dark recording their EP and planning their debut, the indie-band came out full swing in a battle of the bands competition to play at the Austin Convention Center by submitting an abridged music video to their song “Just A Little”; this ended up being their first concert. The music video is still available to view on YouTube. Their next appearance was the following month on KTBC – FOX 7 news promoting their single “Dream” in the weeks before its release. The following day, “Dream” was featured on the Music Biz Weekly podcast with Michael Brandvold (KISS, Dream Theater) and Brian Thompson of ThornyBleeder Records and the band was reviewed by IndieBandGuru.com Shadow of Whales doesn’t plan on slowing down, they have since released two more singles "Just a Little" and "Fall Back".
