Danish guitarist and composer Søren Dahl Jeppesen (b.1980) has performed on the music scene for several years. SDJ is born and raised in Aarhus, Denmark, where he started playing guitar at age 13. He is now based in Copenhagen. The debut album as a leader – Route One – is released January 20 2010 and features among others Óskar Guðjónsson (sax) and Jakob Bro (guitar). SDJ has formerly released two critically acclaimed albums with the ensemble Pauseland and one with the band Cowboy Passion. As a sideman Søren Dahl Jeppesen can regularly be heard with Billie Koppel and Frank Hasselstrøm in the band Catbird and with Elisabeth Gjerluff Nielsen. On the jazz scene, he appears/has appeared with Jakob Dinesen, Jesper Zeuthen Quartet and many others. SDJ is educated from the Rhythmic Music Conservatorys in Aarhus and Copenhagen in 2007. In 2009 he composed the music for the dance performance Snow Eyes, created by choreographer Tali Razga. Concurrently with his live performances, SDJ also teaches guitar. Read more on Last.fm.
