Russell Gunn(born 1971 in Chicago) is an American contemporary Neo-bop jazz musician, known primarily for his trumpet playing and Grammy nominated recording, Ethnomusicology vol. 1. He grew up in East St. Louis, Illinois playing trumpet, and his initial musical interest was hip hop with LL Cool J being his first music idol. His current projects include a large ensemble called Bionic, which just released a ground-breaking record called Krunk Jazz and his smaller group Electrik Butterfly. Read more on Last.fm.
