Self-taught since his brother first showed him the chords to "Ghost Riders In The Sky" at age 13, Rick Yost played in his 20s as a sideman for singer-songwriters like Don Stecker and Bob Ackerman as part of the Lower Greenville/East Dallas nightclub scene. The first Rick Yost Group was an electric, rock and blues three-piece which formed in 1986. The band survived a little over a year. From then until 2000, Rick played solo, recording his first CD, Wichita Falls, in 1999. In 2001, Rick won the 2001 Wildflower Festival National Songwriting Competition. He has opened for B.W. Stevenson, Geoff Bartley, Jack Williams, Kinky Friedman, Robert Earl Keen, Ray Wylie Hubbard, 'Bugs' Henderson, and more. Rick and his wife, Tracy own the nightclub Pearl. Read more on Last.fm.
