Prince Wadada

The Angolian born Prince Wadada, who has been living in Portugal since 1998, is one of most interesting musicians to work with. He is also one of the most influential reggae/dancehall artists currently in Portugal. With a career spanning over fifteen years, he has shared the stage, with such big name reggae artists such as: Big Youth, Far East Band, Gentleman, Lee Scratch Perry, Anthony B, and Damian Marley. Prince Wadada’s discography currently consists of four albums. The albums are, “KEM E’ KEM”, “NATTY KONGO”, “ENTENDIMENTO” and “KAZUKUTA”. There will be a new album which will be released in March, named “MILICIANO”. You can contact Prince Wadada himself, to find out more about his albums, as well as his upcoming release. The songs on the albums are a mix of Portuguese, his Angolian accent, and Jamaican patois. Prince Wadada has put out many interesting and skillfully made videos, which you can watch on his YouTube channel. He has just released a new video, called “REBELATION REUNION”. Please check it out on his YouTube channel. Prince Wadada’s name came from a fusion of the Jamaican poet Prince Far I (1944-1983) and a song from Burning Spear called “Black Wadada”.
