Our People Versus Yours

Our People Versus Yours are a five-piece Post-Hardcore band from various parts of Essex. Formed in September 2007, but eventually getting a solid line up march 2008, they recorded their first ever single entitled “Here Comes the Flood” at Escape Route Productions (Silent Descent and more), which quickly established the band. After playing numerous gigs throughout the country they headed back to Escape Route to finish their debut EP also called “Here Comes the Flood.” 2009 saw a stylistic change for the band, which led them to finding a new vocalist to incorporate more melodic and clean sections. After a short break and some intense writing they were back again in 2009 recording their first song since their debut EP. This song was entitled “Hope and Faith” and was recorded at Stakeout Studios (Fightstar, The Ghost Of A Thousand, etc). They then returned to Stakeout to finish the recording of their second EP “Southern Colours” which was released at the beginning of 2010. After some high profile shows supporting the likes of Young Guns, Lower Than Atlantis, Deaf Havana and Proceed, they returned to Stakeout Studios one last time midway through 2010 to record a two track digital only mini EP under the moniker “Time To Rise” The band then took some time off to redefine their sound, and returned in 2011 with their third EP "Lights" recorded at Studio GlassEye. This EP brought back a lot of influences from their debut EP, but still maintained the more melodic side of their later works. 2011 has been a great year for the band, with shows supporting the likes of The Elijah, Liferuiner, Evita, 50 Lions, Texas In July and All Forgotten, as well as releasing their first ever music video for their song "Ariha" Their whole back catalogue is available digitally on iTunes: http://itunes.apple.com/gb/artist/our-people-versus-yours/id341507644 and physically on their bigcartel: www.ourpeopleversusyours.bigcartel.com To keep up to date with tours and releases etc make sure to visit www.facebook.com/ourpeopleversusyours Read more on Last.fm.
