Formed in Semarang, Central Java, Garna from AK47 and Baskoro (Suck Eat Fruit) were the ones to start OK Karaoke in the year of 2005. They intended to channel their passion to indie-pop music as they have joined in both hardcore/punk bands. Garna and Baskoro recruited Galih, a radio announcer, considering his vocal character and Adiyat as the bass player as they all had the same music interest. With Kartun as a drummer, the band had completely formed. But it wasn't take a long time until Kartun decided to resign as he was too busy with his job at local radio station. He was replaced by Aga who previously linked to Numb and also Velvet Tongue. At the beginning, Ok Karaoke set to form an indie-pop band and began their first phase gigs, covering singles, most of them are from The Stone Roses and also New Order. Bemby from Terror Incognita once joined the band as a keyboardist, but soon he left the band for his study and replaced by Bayu from Le Bench in 2006. But he also left, moved to Jakarta for his job. The band admitted that Bayu has put some new colours to their own paintings, though. In July 2007 Ok Karaoke recorded few songs for the demo CD including "The Royal Ambassador Mistress" and "Milky Way", which was released in their 6 tracks Extended Play (EP) in 2008, titled Sail Off The Storm. In year 2009, Aga & Galih left the group. Aga moved to Jakarta and Galih to India, both of them are seek out their careers. It takes no time to the group to find the right person. Dhimi joined for the drummer position and Febrian Aditya Putra, known as Ditto, take over the mic and tambourine. Ditto was (also) a former radio announcer. 2013, a year that the group planned to release their first studio album.
