There is more than one artist with this name: Notes from the Underground 1: Fred Sokolow - banjo, mandolin, guitar, tambourine, vocals Mark Mandell - guitar, vocals Skip Rose - piano, electric piano, organ, harpsichord Mike O'Connor - bass, vocals Peter Oswald - drums Notes From the Underground was a west coast psychedelic rock group based out of San Francisco. They released one self titled record in 1968 but soon disappeared into relative obscurity. Their electric single, "Why Did You Put Me On?" later saw release on the compilation set Love Is The Song We Sing, giving them a little bit wider exposure forty years down the line. Notes from the Underground 2: Notes from the Underground is a hardcore band from based out of southern New Hampshire. After the punk band Silent Distortion (myspace.com/silentpunkrock) went on hiatus, drummer Greg Nahabedian, bassist Ahren Thielker, and vocalist Kyle Bouchard continued playing together with the addition of their friend, Kyle Rees, handling guitar duties.
