Noon Layer Drive

Noon Layer Drive are a three piece hard rock alternative, from Buckinghamshire. The name is taken from a wasteland within the perimeters of their hometown. Signposted but nothing more than 20sq ft of tarmac and a mound of rubble, the band saw it as an opportunity to facilitate the imagination for what might be. The numbing reality that was eventually offered, created music that reflected their observations. Songs like Walking The Glass Mile and Down On Me lay testament to this. The band has had imperative line up changes over its three year span, it even began life as a five piece only to realise that deadwood can only float for so long. The unit now stands firmly on its feet as four. Gary Murphy (vocals, guitar) Paul Ford (guitar) Sam Farrell (bass) and Ben Hallett (drums). First generation citizens of their suburban social catastrophe all came together through a decrepit hug of what still is a dwindling music scene there and despite the fact they were in various lesser guises, it planted a seed that would in later years develop into something special. A colossal, scything sound standing nothing short of gigantic. The music carves intrusive hard rock riffs into your bones. Read more on Last.fm.
