1) Monomen was a dutch rock/new wave band from Arnhem, The Netherlands. 2) Monomen is a Norwegian New Wave/Electronica band from the small suburban area Sørumsand, outside of Oslo. The four bandmembers are also former classmates. Despite their young age, Monomen was claimed to be one of Norways most promising bands by several norwegian newspaper-writers after releasing Monomen LP in 2007. The band rose up from the ashes of another Washington band, The Roofdogs. John Mortensen came from the Dehumanizers and Game for Vultures before joining the Mono Men. Their sound contained elements of grunge (distortion-heavy guitars, sneering vocals), but The Mono Men filtered these through a mimicry of 1960s Washington proto-punk, garage rock bands such as The Sonics.
