Mirko Fait (Born 3rd June 1965) is an Italian-born saxophonist originating from Milan, Italy. Mirko grew up in a family of musicians, and began his career in music playing classical guitar as a child and switched to studying the contralto saxophone in his early twenties after discovering jazz as an element of his cultural heritage. He began his studies in Bergamo, Milan under the tuition of the great saxophonist Alberto Nacci, known for his ethical and heartfelt approach to the instrument. Later, he studied the tenor saxophone with artists such as Michele Bozza, Giulio Visibelli and Emanuele Cisi until finally studying with Michael Rosen. After a stint playing with Marco Malinverno's Too Much Coffee Soul Band, he formed the band Five for You with friend and trumpeter Marco Luigini, as well as percussionist Enrico Patriarchi, bass guitarist Armando Nicosia, guitarist Marco Flocco and singer Manuela Villa. He joined Cuban trumpeter and pianist Gendrickson Mena Diaz in January 2002 to play a 4-day event for famous fashion designer Pitti Uomo, which led to several other famous figures, including Giuseppe Romano of soap opera "Vivere" fame requesting his performance. He also plays with Danilo Manto and Max Patrick and works at Manto’s project of contemporary music from which his first CD was born. Mirko exhibits through clubs in Milan and Lombardy with Mario Manducci, Ezio Salfa, Gendrickson Mena, Giorgio Vogli, Angelo Bifezzi, Gigi Cifarelli, Germano Zenga, Gianluca Di ienno, Paolo Manasse, Gianluca Alberti, Marcello Cerra, Mauro Bodini, Michele Bozza, Stefano Sernagiotto, Roberto Piccolo, Roberto Agostinelli, Emilio Zilioli, Marco Panascia, Daniele Gorgone, Stefano DiGrigoli and many others.
