Michael Coleman

There seem to be two artists with this name(see photos) 1) Irish fiddler: Coleman was the most prominent of a handful of mainly Sligo fiddlers who recorded extensively in the USA between the world wars (Padddy Killoran was another). Their 78's did an enormous amount to keep Irish music alive in Ireland, and popularise the Sligo style. He's arguably the most important Irish fiddle player of all time, from a musicological point of view. 2) American blues player: I started playing bass guitar for James Cotton way back when... Played with my brothers before that in a little chicago street band. Ya, it's been quite a ride since then. Now I got no workin kidneys and i gotta play the funky blues or i die ya'll.
