Mark Petrie is a composer who actually spent the first years of his life deaf. Due to health complications early in his childhood, Mark had to undergo extensive surgery to revive his hearing. His father died when Mark was five. Awarded a full scholarship, Mark went to boarding school at age nine until graduating at 17, and it was here that he learnt music. After graduating, Mark traveled to Berklee College of Music in Boston to study film scoring. He now resides in the US, composing for film and television. Read more on Last.fm.
