Made Of Buildings

formed 2003, aarhus, denmark. some songs are little pop-songs, normal structure, with vocals all throughout, but often having something in the music that makes it feel different; a restless search for beauty, a darkness or something slightly off. other songs are more experimental with form, some start out with verse/chorus, but ends in repetitive electronica or noise, whether that is electronic or guitar-based or both. then some songs are post-rock format, with no vocals, and often ending in an escalating inferno of noise. the vocals are always soft and comfortable, whispered and slightly slured, adding a texture and sadness to the music. the lyrics are either descriptive, describing a feeling or situation, felt or experienced in life, or it is a fable story, imagined, and structured to prove a point. the band goes to great lenghts to avoid clichés, both in the lyrics and in the music. one thing you might notice in the lyrics is the almost complete absence of rhymes, which is an intentional attemt at focusing on the storytelling aspect, as well as the quality of the lyrics, rather than getting caught up in stereotypical rhymes. overall: made of buildings strive to make intelligent music, that is so beautiful it will break your heart into a million pieces, full of the sadness none of us can escape, but also with a sense of self irony, always attempting to keep things cute, up-tempo and slightly fucked up. the made of buildings rockers: jacob steiner: guitar, organ, programming, piano, glockenspiel. rasmus justesen: vocals, bass, organ. henrik rasmussen: guitar, piano. rune gamborg: drums, percussion, noise.
