Madbrain is a metal band from Quito-Ecuador. The band has received a number of awards in Ecuador, including winning the Extreme Music Festival in 2004, Best Band of the Year at the Larva Awards in 2004, Best Band of the Year at Radio Metro for 2004-2005, and the Best Metal Band and Best Video awards at the MBN Awards in 2007. In 2008 Madbrain produced its third music video "Tu Verdad". Madbrain has been part of a number of large music festivals in Ecuador and has shared the stage with bands such as Ratos de Porao, Death by Stereo, As I Lay Dying, Fear Factory, and many more. On 2010, Madbrain released the album "Resurgir", which was recorded and mixed in EQ Studios Quito-Ecuador and was mastered in West West Side Music - New York Madbrain is also the alias of computer musician Hubert Lamontagne. He holds a multidisciplinary bachelor's degree in music and linguistics, from the Université Laval in the city of Quebec. In addition to his music composition skills, he is a competent programmer and is making a digital synthesizer based on physical modeling of wind instruments. Lamontagne is associated with the Ubiktune label. He has contributed to the soundtracks of a number of games, including the homebrew SNES game "Skipp and Friends: Unexpected Journey" (which was written for a PDRoms.de competition) and one track on the soundtrack of the game "AlterEgo: DreamWalker".
