Look de Bouk is a French trio (with guests) comprised of Ettiene Himalaya, Denis Tagu, and Kwettap Ieuw. All three play a variety of instruments, with E.H. being the primary drummer and composer, D.T. being the primary keyboardist and male vocal, and K.I. being the primary singer, but they all contribute a wide variety of instruments, including trumpet, kazoo, treated vocals, kobichan, accordion, wind-up toys, and various samples. Their music has a very refined melodic content which is often underscored by highly unusual choices of instruments, recording and mixing techniques, and arrangement. The traditional roles of certain instruments are often given to more unusual instruments, and often their sound sources can be difficult to identify. This creates a very personal music that could only arise from these particular musicians working together. Other bands that include or have included members of Look de Bouk are Hellebore and Toupidek Limonade. They also have ties to Debile Menthol and L'ensemble Raye, as Momo Rossel played guitar on their first LP, Lacrimae Rerum, and their second release was mixed at Rossel's Studio de Usines.
