Kevin Bounds

Kevin Bounds is a Texas singer/songwriter whose early influences included such acts as Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Neil Young, George Strait, and many others. He developed an interest in music when he learned to play guitar as a teenager. While attending college in East Texas, he met some other musicians and formed a Bluegrass band, performing a mixture of bluegrass, country and country-rock music. This eventually led to an interest in songwriting as well. After graduating from college with a Commercial Art degree, he got together with some co-workers and formed another band as lead vocalist and rhythm guitar and started performing regularly around the North Texas area in clubs doing covers of popular country songs as well as some of his own original material. Before long Kevin started working and hanging out with other up and coming singers and songwriters around North Texas and started to get more serious about his songwriting. He also started singing demos for recording studios in the area while he made several trips to Nashville trying to get his music heard by various publishers. Then in 1994, one song he had co-written titled "Fever" received interest from a producer who was looking for material for a new artist. The song was recorded and released in 1995 and was very well received as a dance favorite in the clubs complete with an award winning dance choreography and extended remix of the song. The song also did well in the overseas markets helping to kick off the line dance craze in places like Britain, Germany and other parts of Europe. Then in the year 2000 he co-wrote two songs titled "Just A Kiss" and "Someone's Out To Get Me" that were included on Texas singer Steve Holy's debut album release,"Blue Moon". Both songs had good success in Europe. "Just A Kiss" (a Roy Orbison styled song) received substantial airplay and eventually "Someone's Out To Get Me" was was covered by the Welsh Psychobilly band, Demented Are Go” and released on their album,"Hellbilly Storm". Soon after that Kevin started his own label, Fever Pitch Records and released a collection of songs he'd written or co-written on the CD titled "Start From Where You Stand". During this time he also recorded an album of songs by other writers on a separate independent label that was released. Read more on Last.fm.
