There is more than one artist with the name Kenyo. 1.) A Pop-rock band from the Philippines and 2.) an upcoming Rap-Youngster from Germany 1.) Three members of the defunct Orange and Lemons return with a new band called Kenyo. Like the fruits it was named after, the band Orange and Lemons eventually started tasting sour when creative differences among its members led to its extinction. Also contributing to its demise is the fact that nobody else could continue on with the name Orange and Lemons, unless all the original members are intact. Thus, the band was officially killed in September 2007 and Orange and Lemons became one of those short-lived bands that had its taste of glory, if only for one brief shining moment. Mcoy Fundales, the band’s lead vocalist, claims he has nothing but good memories about Orange and Lemons. After all, they had a successful tour in the US and won the "Album of the Year Award" from N.U. 107 Rock Awards. "So we ended on a very good note," he said. But that didn’t mean it was the end of the careers of Mcoy and some of his fellow bandmates. Mcoy decided to establish a new band after he finished his stint with the recent "Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition." He and brothers Ace and JM Del Mundo have teamed up with drummer Jeff Lima to form Kenyo. Kenyo is short for "Bulakenyo," which is what people from the province of Bulacan are called. Mcoy is from Baliuag, Bulacan (also known as the birthplace of the late great comedian Bert "Tawa" Marcelo) and the Del Mundo brothers are from Plaridel. The core members may be from Orange and Lemons, but Kenyo, especially its kind of music, is different and their debut album from Universal Records entitled "Radiosurfing" proves just that.. Those who have loved Mcoy’s former band through their original songs may raise their eyebrows when they find out that 11 out of the 12 songs on "Radiosurfing" are cover songs. Yet there’s a twist to it — all are love songs with updated arrangements. 2.) Kenyo, formally known as "Eques", also known as Chris Christophers, is an upcoming Rap-Youngster from Germany. In his area he is pretty well known and also got some beef already with rappers from the neighbourhood. Eques is releasing his tracks for friends only, he is not into making-money, yet... He changed his name into Kenyo since he is killing other MCs in the R.B.A. Read more on Last.fm.
