Keith Frank

The people of SW Louisiana and SE Texas who love to dance are very particular about what they like. The dance floor has to be just right, the club must have the right mix of people, even the drinks must have a certain "flavor." And more often than not, they have to be dancing to the sound of Keith Frank. Since the formation of his own band nearly 20 years ago, Keith Frank has followed the path laid out by Zydeco's forefathers, staying true to his Creole Culture, but still broadening the horizons of the music. The resulting sound, while 100% zydeco, melds zydeco's sound with the best of other music forms, including R&B, Soul, Pop, Rock, and even a little HipHop. This unique blend brings out a varied crowd. However, whether they be young or old, big or small, black or white, one things is guaranteed: KEITH FRANK IS GONNA MAKE THEM SWEAT!!! Keith Frank and the Soileau Zydeco Band have set the standard for the contemporary zydeco movement. Their unique sound, combined with their nonstop four hour shows, have catapulted them to the forefront of the genre. The band can be found out on the road every weekend, playing the music they love. Forming the foundation of the Soileau Zydeco Band behind Keith Frank are his sister Jennifer on Bass and brother Brad on Drums. They have been with the band since the beginning, and having performed together since they were children, their cohesiveness on stage contributes to the ban's sound. The band is joined by Lucien Hayes and Chad Fouquier on guitar, Kyndrell Frank on scrubboard, and Rayniske 'Lil Nat' Frank supplies the band with his rap lyrics on several of the more contemporary songs. The band remains a top draw at local clubs, festivals, and trailrides. In addition, the band annually tours from coast to coast, and occasionally Internationally. They continue to push Zydeco to the limits, but always remain respectful of it's foundation. The band is currently touring in support of their latest release "LOVED. FEARED. RESPECTED." which quickly became the must-have CD for Zydeco lovers upon its release at the end of 2008. Featuring songs ranging from the hopeful "OVERCOME," to the edgy "Sweep," the CD features something for every lover of Zydeco, and music in general. This CD, as with all his previous releases, further stated his case as one of the preeminent Zydeco musicians of the day, AND continued on his path toward being acknowledged as one of the best ever.
