Born in Hobart, Tasmania, Keith Mason spent the formative part of his musical career performing in Hobart based underground bands (Vodka Party, Karaoke For My Shadow, Kind Winds). His solo project K Mason began with the home recording of the EP ‘K Mason 1′, completed in 2003. ‘K Mason 1′ outperformed Keith’s own expectations, becoming a cult favourite, both in Australia and overseas, eventually spawning a limited edition re-release through Newcastle based label Spanish Magic (Castings, Hi-God People) in 2005. In the years following the release of this EP, Keith has developed a live performance incorporating elements of his recorded work with his own distinctive brand of improvised guitar. He has toured this show through Eastern Australia and supported international touring acts including Mt. Eerie, Magnolia Electric Company and Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy.
