Junior Banton

Nino Galogaza aka Junior Banton. First sight to this world was in Solingen (Germany),14th of May when the two sevens clashed. Though born in Germany, his parents are from former Yugoslavia (Banja Luka, Republika Srpska). Shortly after his birth the nurses stated that he is going to be a singer,since he was the loudest of all children. Before he was able to walk,he was already playing with his parents 7" records. Later he nearly became a professional Soccer player, but destiny had prepared a different route for him. In the year 2000 Junior and his good friend Selector Don Raggamore initiated the Jaspora Sound. Between 2003 and 2004 they used to play regularly at the U-Club in Wuppertal and area. Later then at their self organized and regular Dance in Solingen. While Don Raggamore was selecting, Junior took over the MC part and started shortly after to create his own uncompromising singing style. Junior participated in the "Celebrate Riddim" Contest,organized 2003 by "Pow Pow Movement" from Cologne, and made the 2nd place out of 40 contenders with the tune "Whatever Dem Try". In 2004 in Duesseldorf he met the Monster Riddim Band and later around 2005 the Headshop Band, with whom he both played several shows and festivals, also as support for Macka B, Mr Vegas, Cecile & T.O.K. Followed by shows with Sheriffs Soundpatrol (Reggaejam) as support for Nosliw, Mono & Nikitaman, Urban Tribe and Daddy Freddy. Mid 2006, after the break up with Jaspora Sound, Junior moved to Leipzig, where he made a short stop at Germaican Records. March 2007 the tune "Wantie, Wantie" on the "King Orle Riddim" was released, in June "Live It Up" on the "Ice Ice Riddim" for Reggae-Town and in August "Highgrade" on the "Crazy Night Riddim". Last one for the 12" Sampler produced by SWS Sound from Berlin. October 2007 followed then the 6 songs strong self-produced "Wrapped inna Magic" EP. January 2008 is when Junior moved to Berlin, where he is currently working on his Soloalbum. In the meantime further productions have been released like : "Road A Ruff" on the "Leon De Judah Riddim" (REYJAHB, Barcelona), "No Reason, No War" for the 2ble Impact Charity Sampler (Kinetic Rec, Berlin) and "My Sound Dubplates Vol.1" (10 Dubs) mastered by Ganjaman from Berlin. Followed by the "Heavy Weight Riddim" Selection and his Loverstune "Real Queen", produced by Filip G & Respecta also from Hannover. After that Junior released in collaboration with Conscious-Creative from Berlin the "Monzly Riddims" EP and the "Hands & Heart" EP available as a free download.
