Irving Mills (January 16, 1894 – April 21, 1985) was a jazz music publisher, also known by the name of "Joe Primrose." "St. James Infirmary Blues" is an American folksong of anonymous origin, though sometimes credited to the songwriter Joe Primrose (a pseudonym for Irving Mills). Louis Armstrong made it famous in his influential 1928 recording. A recording of "St. James Infirmary" by Cab Calloway was used in a Betty Boop: Snow White cartoon, available at http://archive.org/details/bb_snow_white (4:20 to 6:00). Read more on Last.fm.
