Jasbir Jassi was born on February 7, 1970 in Dalla Mirjanpur Village, Gurdaspur, Punjab, India. He is a Bhangra musician who quit engineering to study music. He holds a master's degree in classical vocal music from Apeejay College of Fine Arts. His first pop album, Dil Le Gayee was released in 1998. He sees music as a way to unite the world and considers himself an ambassador for Punjabi music. In addition to music, Jassi enjoys acting and photography.Jassi however is a very famous pop singer but he likes Sufi and folk singing very much. Jassi is very simple and down to earth guy who never hesitates to pull his fans on the stage while performing on the stage shows,which any other Indian singer can't even think of. His favorite Indian bike is Royal Enfield Jasbir Jassi. a first generation musician, is most influenced by Shaukat Ali Khan and Baba Kashmira Singh. He trained under V.S. Jolly and then renowned Sufi singer Puran Shah Koti. Classical guru Ustad Shaukat Ali Khan heavily influences this 'Punjab da munda' (Son of Punjab. Baba Kashmira Singh Ji inspired him to look beyond the horizons and reach pinnacle of perfection in his field. Jasbir is a natural philanthropist at his thinking is a true believer that "Music is a Religion of Togetherness!" and adds, this is the time to overcome our religious difference and save humanity… which reflects his holdings towards contributions on his way for music lovers. Jasbir's childhood was very adventurous as he was born and brought up in a typical town in Punjab. He was the most dotted-upon member of his family. However his home environment was hardly conducive for promotion of music and creative arts, Jasbir Jassi like several of his counterparts became a first generation musician by having an in-born dedication towards music and singing and his early morning practices bore fruit and he mastered the art which turned into his fame and glory. His musical journey started about 15 years back by recording for Punjabi films like PASSPORT and ZAHKHMI. He also sang for remix albums like 'Balle Balbiro Balle'. He then made 'Channa Ve Teri Channani' 1993, which was a follow-up with hit albums like ‘Dil Le Gayee’ 1998 ‘Kudi Kudi’ 1999 ‘Nishani Pyar Di’ 2001 ‘Just Jassi’ 2003 ‘Mukhda Chann Varga’ 2004 'Pyar mere nu’ in Film in ‘Dobara’ 2004. Jasbir Jassi is an heartthrob musical extravaganza, when complimented on his hi-energy stage performance he replies “Music is like a pearl buried deep inside my heart and soul, just waiting to be brought out!” having done more than 5000 shows over 70 countries across the world and record breaking performances for corporate giants, concerts, public and private performances, Jasbir Jassi is still waiting to give his best performance though he goes on and on with oodles of energy and make everyone dance to his beats and steal the show one after one. “Hope & A Little Sugar” is his latest blockbuster film for he lent his musical voice. The film is directed by Tanuja Chandra. Jassi also has a low-profile Punjabi album prior to Dil Le Gayee. In Nishani Pyar Di, Jassi explored the depths of Punjabi poetry such as Batalvi and Bulle Shah. Jasbir Jassi was recently on small screen on NDTV Imagine’s Dhoom Macha De and he was crowned as “The Show Stopper” who created history on television for his dynamic performances.
