Duo Rythmigration . Review in French jazz magazine : Jazz Hot, 2007. A piano and percussions dialogue in a semi composed semi improvised duo. It works well , the two musicians speak the same language, with the today need to go have a look in other musics but it still is jazz . The pianist seems to have assimilated Keith Jarrett and Chick Corea, among others artists , like for exemple in " Une journée anonyme " . The left hand sometimes does a wonderfull work with ostinatos giving the impression of a double bass . Beautifull sound , nice attacks , personal phrases , he can leave space to the notes as in " ABBK " with a very slow tempo, like waiting . Influences from Granados, some Ravel in " Noya Mondea " played brightly . The percussionist's rythmic lines perfectly interwine in the pianist playing . He shows his soloing skills in " Sous les dunes ". A very nice record , easely talking to the heart . Serge Baudot Jazz Magazine no 568 March 2006 , France . Henri Roger and Ismael Robert have created a singular duo with a travelling spirit , where piano and percussion converse.

Neither the clear articulation and phrases of each of them, nor their rythmic rigor leave out form freedom and lurches.

If one looks for analogy , we will refer to what Manuel and Patrico Villaroel, or Bobby Few with Cheik Tidiane Fall did in the 70's .

A tasty mix of bold jazz and world music .
