Havasi Balázs (born in 1975) is a Hungarian pianist and composer. Piano became his life at the tender age of four when his absolute hearing perfect pitch was discovered and he was recognised as a prodigy. He studied at the piano faculty of the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music. He was considered an exceptional talent, who was incredibly motivated by challenges and competitive situations. He used to practice as much as ten hours to achieve the best he could. In 1996, at the age of 21 he was already teaching piano at the conservatory of Budapest. During the first years, his pupils were often older than him. His classes soon became filled with youths, while he gained prestige for his knowledge and his informality. He understands the immense responsibility of teaching and has grown into a true mentor. He has built up a massive repertoire as a performer of classical music, has given concerts in several European cities and won a number of piano competitions - including the Yamaha Piano Contest organised by the Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe. In 2009 he set a Guiness World Record hitting the same piano key 498 times in 60 seconds making him the fastest pianist of the world.
