Guy Francis

Guy Francis (born April 15,1952 in the parish of Trelawny Jamaica W .I.)is a singer/songwriter/producer,who was inspired by artists of the 50s of UK,USA,and Jamaica,by listening to the radio and ,sound systems of that time.He did his first recorded single after migrating to the USA .A song called, "I Found My Love Last Night".Guy first band experience was with a band called the" Exocits"located in Brooklyn New York. After the band broke up,he was introduced to the "Black Eagles"Founded and led by Denroy Morgan,and was singing both lead and harmony.He spent quite awhile in the band.In 1977 the band decided to enter the annual New York Jamaica Reggae Festival Song Competition.Guy decided to write a song for the band to enter that year; a song called,"Shock Them"which won the competition that year.He decided to go solo after awhile,continued to write and sing ,that over the years led to producing.He entered the annual New York Reggae Festival Competition 1978-1980,got to as far as the finals,but never won.1980 his life took a turn that led him to persue the gospel.Since then he has been writing songs of inspiration that highten the awreness that there is a Creator and a Saviour which is Jesus Christ.Guy was always a writer of conscious lyrics,dealing with social issues,life and love.He feels that he has a work to perform,through his talent of music,and doing it consistently.
