Gilberto Gutierrez

Gilberto Gutiérrez (born Laudero Gilberto Gutiérrez Silva in 1958 Veracruz, Mexico) is a Mexican musician and member of Mono Blanco. Coming from a rural musical family he grew up listening to music all the time, soon took a liking to the regional typical instrument: Jarana. He took that to Mexico City in the late 70s and there co-founded Mono Blanco. Recently he has worked with Lila Downs on her album 'Ojo de Culebra', and in the past worked with Los Lobos, Willie & Lobo, Los Cenzontles, Al Hermann, Inspector, Noemy Esparza and Los Paizaz de Guaracevi.
