Frank Groothof

Franciscus Bernardus Theodorus (Frank) Groothof Schröder (Amsterdam, february 14, 1947) is a Dutch actor, primarily known of productions focussed on children. He is known as 'Boy Zonderman' in the popular Dutch educational televisionshow for kids 'Klokhuis', and as resident of the Dutch Sesame Street (Sesamstraat). In the latter, he first played a mischievous boy, but turned into a young uncle. Groothof studied at the conservatory of Amsterdam for five years. After, he joined a musical and worked for twelve years with 'Het Werktheater', performing lots of theatershows and movies. Next, he created 'Broertjes' (Brothers), a succesful series of musical shows for children, with his brother René, based on experiences of their childhood. Also the televisionshow 'Broertjes' was very popular. With his work in the Dutch Sesame Street and 'Klokhuis', he reached an even bigger audience. He also edited operas and other classical musical pieces to exciting musictheatershows for children and their parents. Most of the shows are available on cd. His work includes Mozart's Zauberfleute, Idomeneo, Fidelio and the journey of Odysseus. Read more on Last.fm.
