Curiosity describes their past. The limitless sky will determine their future. For now, the impeccable trio Fly Street Gang has its eye on one thing – success. Comprised of Oakland natives Jay, Phantom and Tah, the mid-twenty year olds are on a mission for industry longevity, creating art and representing for what’s closest to their hearts – the Bay Area. With thousands of social media followers and a brand deeply embedded in the streets of Oakland, FSG has now focused its attention to a broader audience – anyone willing to listen and they’re on the right track. It all started in the late ‘90s. Wu-Tang, Biggie, E-40 and Too Short were blasting and music was being planted. Jay and Tah, who are cousins, plus Phantom were trouble but in a good way. From writing poems to just vibing on familiar streets, without knowing, their foundation was built. In 2004, with two additional friends, they started a group. Music was the forefront and talent was a requirement. After two years of finding themselves, the group decided it was its best with three. As the mentality of the group became more focused and the three made music their first priority, the foundation to winning became a reality. With much preparation, networking and groundwork, FSG released “Guns and Rosegold,” “Flight School,” “Fly Nonstop,” garnered more than 100,000 downloads, and “Zero Gravity.” Singles “Knock It Out” and “Step on the Gas” have both received national radio play, including LA’s Power 106. As the music is created, the group’s story broadens. Opening up for Young Money’s Tyga, breaking singles on national radio and gearing up for the best work of their lives, FSG is onto a plan for world supremacy one bar at a time. In the meantime, FSG is focused on finishing what they started by assuring their music reaches the masses, staying true to their musical roots and become the biggest trio to come out of the Bay Area. And to think; they’ve just begun. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
