South Louisiana has a music genre all it's own and it's called Cajun music. The Cajun sounds are a blend of European and American Indian influences with a foundation of French and French Acadian folk tradition. South Louisiana natives agree that you must see as well as hear Cajun music performed to truly appreciate it. Then you'll understand why people (locals and out of town guests) can't help but start dancing to the Cajun waltz and two-step rhythms the moment you hear the lively sound. File keeps the traditional sounds alive by playing the Cajun-oriented instruments in all of their songs: the drums, the fiddle, washboard, guitar, accordion, and spoons. Although, they intend to keep the traditional sounds intact, they also incorporate the elements of R&B, jazz, rock, zydeco, and creole. So, there is something for everyone in their music. The locals that make up File are keeping a part of the history of south Louisiana alive and dancing. Read more on Last.fm.
