Fake Your Own Death

You don’t have to actually die to start over, but you might have to pretend to. Terry Ashkinos from up and coming San Francisco band Fake Your Own Death says, “The name is supposed to both refer to the fact that everyone at one point in their life wishes they could be born anew and that in the age of the internet, in the year 2010, it would be impossible to fake one’s own death; that’s right Michael Jackson is really dead. There is no longer any place to hide in the world.” One listen to Fake Your Own Death and its easy to feel as if the landscape has shifted and nothing will ever be the same again. Hailing from such indie bands as Elephone (SF), Univac (LA) and American Mars (Detroit), the recordings that would become Fake Your Own Death came out so naturally that all three decided to abandon their other projects and develop into a band.
