Originally from a small northern suburb of Chicago, Fahri was started up in 2005 by husband and wife duo, Sarah Long and Miles Murray. After some shows and a few member changes they met drummer, Neil Gravander, who joined the band permanently in 2006. Shortly after, the band was picked up by Kovington, KY label, Ionik Recordings, who released a self titled, electronic EP for Fahri. After the release of their EP with Ionik, Miles, Sarah and Neil relocated to Milwaukee, WI where they were immediately welcomed into a thriving indie music scene. Fahri has since been featured on WMSE radio, toured nationally, and played many shows and festivals in the Midwest region. Fahri's sound is born of influences ranging from Gang of Four to Sonic Youth to Elvis Costello. The songs are very guitar centric with both Murray and Long trading leads producing what fans often describe as a "sonic" sound. Fahri's first full length album, "Perfect Present" is being released in August, 2010. They will be touring to support their record in Sept. 2010. Until then, Fahri is hard at work, writing and recording new songs and enjoying spaghetti dinners together. Read more on Last.fm.
