Exo is a group of Christian musicians. It was founded in 1989, when Chris Christensen and his wife Laura met Thierry Ostrini. Chris and Thierry started writing songs inspired by their daily walk as Christians and the songs quickly became popular across small churches. The first album Éclats (1995) recorded live in Brussels, Belgium, met a very positive response, so the group followed with two albums, respectively recorded in Paris, France, in 1997 and in Lausanne, Switzerland, in 1998. The group was invited to perform overseas, in Africa, Guyana, Québec and the Caribbean, where the songs were already known by heart and the group grew to include other musicians who shared the same faith, the same aspirations and a similar level of musical skills. The fourth album was recorded live in the West Indies to reflect the cross-cultural nature of the group and they released another album in 2004. Because of the quality of their music and the inspiration believers across the spectrum of Christianity have found in it, Exo Groupe is arguably the favorite band of French-speaking Christians and their songs have become classics of modern day worship.
