Ever Since The Lake Caught Fire

ever since the lake caught fire are an unsigned 4 piece from the small coastal towns of Whitley Bay and Tynemouth, just outside of Newcastle, Great Britain. Having made an impact on their local scene over the past year with their epic episodes of thrashing guitars, delicate moments, erratic riffs and a mix of intense yet melodic vocals they have built up a hardcore fan base that continues to grow. Having recorded their first demo mid 2005 and gaining recognition for their amazing, energetic and passionate live shows they received some very positive local and national press as well as being played on student, local, and foreign radio stations. With the release of their limited self titled, self released EP in August 2006 they played the Unsigned Stage at the 2006 Leeds festival and represented the North-East at In The City in Manchester. From November 2006 the band took a 6 month hiatus due to trips to Canada, finishing degrees and various other commitments. Once all bodies and minds were back in Newcastle the band could focus on writing new material and playing live again from the summer of 2007. In late November the band travelled to Leeds to record with Tom Woodhead from Forward Russia and the recorded song 'A Fire Born in Dallas' was played on BBC Radio 1 by Steve Lamacq in January 2008. In April 2008 the band released their debut single 'A Fire Born In Dallas' on Pay For The Piano Recordings on limited edition mini 3" CD and digital download. ESTLCF also embarked on their first tour of the UK to support the release. The single was played on both BBC Radio 1 & BBC6 Music. ever since the lake caught fire have played with the likes of Forward Russia, Kubichek!, The Longcut, Frank Turner, Dartz!, Help She Can’t Swim, The Motorettes, The Cooper Temple Clause, Adem, Cats and Cats and Cats, Marvins Revolt and This Ain’t Vegas. In the future ESTLCF plan to continue writing, recording, playing and releasing their music themselves and with their friends and allies. YOU CAN HELP US!!
