The Endellion String Quartet was formed in 1979 and its members have been together for over 25 years. It is widely recognized as one of the finest chamber ensembles in the world. The all-British string quartet has been 'Quartet in Residence' at Cambridge University since 1992. It has an impressive discography and is much in demand in concert halls around the world. In 1997 the quartet received the award for 'Best Chamber Ensemble' from the Royal Philharmonic Society. They are currently recording cycle of Beethoven's quartets, string quintets and quartet fragments. The second volume, Op.18/3 and Op.132, represents their finest artistic achievement of the 21st century thus far. Read more on Last.fm.
